About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Most concrete operations are carrying unnecessary cost through overdesign, variability, and conservative assumptions — often without realising it.

Concrete & Geotechnical Engineering was established to address that.

With over 40 years of combined industry experience across ready-mixed concrete, aggregates and construction materials, we work directly with producers, contractors and project teams to improve performance where it matters — in production and in the field.

Our focus is not just on technical advice, but on identifying where cost, risk and inefficiency exist, and implementing practical solutions that reduce cement, improve consistency and deliver measurable outcomes.

Everything we do is grounded in real operating conditions — your materials, your plant, and your constraints — ensuring improvements are achievable, not theoretical.

Recent Project Outcomes

Cement Reduction & Mix Optimisation – Multi-Plant Operation
Identified consistent overstrength across multiple mixes (typically 6–10 MPa above target), driven by conservative batching and variability.

Implemented targeted mix adjustments and batching controls, resulting in:

  • Reduction of 12–18 kg/m³ cementitious content across key mixes

  • Improved strength consistency and reduced standard deviation

  • Immediate recovery of margin without increasing compliance risk

Major Infrastructure Project Support – High Volume Supply
Provided technical support during large-scale project delivery, focusing on mix stability, pumpability, and compliance under varying site conditions.

Outcomes included:

  • Consistent performance across high-volume pours

  • Reduced variability during production and placement

  • Successful compliance with project specifications without overdesign

Plant Performance Improvement – Batching & Variability Control
Worked directly with plant teams to identify sources of variability including moisture control, batching tolerances, and material inconsistencies.

Delivered:

  • Improved batching accuracy and repeatability

  • Reduction in unnecessary cement used as a “buffer”

  • Increased confidence in mix performance and compliance

Recent Project Outcomes

Marginal Materials Assessment – Quarry & Civil Application
Assessed variable and lower-quality material sources for use in structural and pavement applications.

Developed practical blending and utilisation strategies that:

  • Enabled use of materials previously considered unsuitable

  • Reduced reliance on higher-cost imported materials

  • Maintained compliance with project specifications

Geotechnical Material Suitability – Infrastructure Project
Provided material classification, performance assessment, and constructability advice for project-specific earthworks materials.

Outcomes included:

  • Clear identification of material limitations and risks

  • Development of workable construction controls

  • Improved efficiency during placement and compaction

Material Performance & Constructability Support
Worked with project teams to align testing results with real-world behaviour during construction.

Delivered:

  • Practical recommendations for compaction, moisture control, and placement

  • Reduced rework and site delays

  • Improved confidence in material performance under field conditions

What This Means for Your Operation

Across both concrete and geotechnical materials, the focus is the same:

  • Identify where cost and inefficiency exist

  • Improve performance without increasing risk

  • Deliver solutions that work in real operating conditions
